What is JRJ
- Jr Riders Journal (JRJ) is a mail list, one of thousands online but JRJ is one of the oldest.
- JRJ is FREE
- JRJ list owner and subscription manager is Kris Carroll. See About HC to learn more.
- Majordomo is the JRJ mail list software - technology happens. If you are accidently unsubscribed, please resubmit a form with a note in the Experience box.
- The charter for the Junior Riders Journal is simple: Discussion of all things equestrian by and for junior riders (junior as defined by common sense, that is kids). No flaming, nipping or kicking or writing in all caps. No solicitations, commercial ads or game posts are allowed. Don't post off-topic or personal messages, save those for email. What should and should not be posted is simply a matter of honest manners. Consider how your email will be read by hundreds of kids, of all different ages, cultures, religions and family background, kids from all over the world.
- JRJ oldtimers, mostly college kids and grads, who moderate the mail list. All posts are reviewed for appropriate content before they are published. But they are not anyone's mom. Think before you post.
- The digest has some pretty wonderful adult lurkers, parents and adult equestrian professions, who are happy to answer questions and who help keep an eye on things, though this is a kids' digest and discussion group. As one JRJ kid pointed out, we don't tell you what to think, but encourage you to think for yourself.
- Majordomo has been told not to give out subscriber information, this helps protect subscribers from spam.
- Digests will not be archived by Majordomo but by JRJ list owner Kris Carroll. Past digests are not available Some day they might turn up in a book.
- You can subscribe for individual post or a daily digest consisting of several posts. Each digest contains 10-15 messages. There can be 1-2, sometimes 8-9 digests per day, depending on busy schedules and hot topics.
- Step 2 fill out the subscription form, the subscription manager will need time to approve your request, then you'll receive an introductory email from Majordomo mail list software. Please read the last part carefully.
